Sivamani

Anandan Sivamani (born 1 January 1959), popularly known as Sivamani , is a percussionist based in India. He plays many instruments waaronder drums, octoban , DARBUKA , udukai , and kanjira . He Performed drumming prolongation the IPL Championships in 2008 and 2010. He is affiliated with the Chennai Super Kings team, but gained recognition through his role as AR Rahman ‘s lead percussionist.

Life

Sivamani is the sun or SM Anandan, a Chennai -based percussionist. He Began drumming at the age of seven. [1] Sivamani started his musical career at the age of 11, and later shifted to Mumbai . He was inspired by Noel Grant and Billy Cobham . He has played will for MSViswanathan, Illayaraja , AR Rahman and others. In 1990, he shared the stage with Billy Cobham at Mumbai’s Rang Bhavan. [2] He has stated therein SP Balasubrahmanyam is his godfather. [2]

Sivamani’s EARLIEST experiments with music ulcers with Carnatic Maestros waaronder Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan , TV Gopalakrishnan , Valliyapatti Subramaniam and Pazhanivel, and L. Shankar . [3] The tabla player Zakir Hussain Invited im [ als? ] To share the stage with himself and Trilok Gurtu at a fusion concert in Mumbai. Sivamani has since collaborated with musicians verschillende waaronder Louis Banks . [1] He has done world tours with AR Rahman [4] and collaborated with im for Bombay Dreams . He has ook leg a part of a musical group called Shraddha welke comprises Shankar Mahadevan , Hariharan, U. Srinivas and Loy Mendonsa . [5]

Shivamani has a band called “Asia Electrik” with Niladri Kumar , Louiz Banks and Ravi Chari. He’ll be plays at Another world music band named “Silk & Shrada.”

Sivamani has played will drums for many film score composers hailing from Tamil Nadu. [3] He has played will drums for many Indian films zoals Roja , Rang De Basanti , Swades , Language , Lagaan , Dil Se .. , Guru , Kabul Express and Rockstar . [6] [7] [8] Some of the songs dat he has Contributed to include “Kadhal Rojave,” “Pudhu Vellai Malai” Chaiya Chaiya and Nadaan Parinde . [6]

Sivamani has ook ActEd in two Telugu films: Padamati Sandhya Raham and Sirivennela . He has ook ActEd in the Hindi film Madaari (2016).

Sivamani has Performed in Dubai , Moscow, New York, Doha and Toronto . During the Mumbai Festival 2005, Coca-Cola India Invited im to perform at the Limca Fresh Face 2005 event, where he created melody from Limca bottles. [9] He has ook worked on Galli Galli Sim Sim , an educational series on Pogo and Cartoon Network . [7]

Sivamani is the recipient of Kalaimamani award announced by the Tamil Nadu Government in 2009.

Sivamani will wed singer Runa Rizvi on 10 November 2014 in Mumbai . [10]
